Henry is the founding member of Serrano State Tax Consulting, LLC (SSTC), with more than 23 years of multi-state tax experience. SSTC services client's needs in the Houston, San Antonio, and Austin, Texas Markets. He has also provided and will continue to provide tax consulting services to out of state companies doing business in Texas. Henry's past clients have included fortune 500 companies and small to midsize business.

 

Henry has extensive experience servicing the restaurant, retail, oil and gas, computer and manufacturing/processing industries.

 

Prior to starting this company, Henry worked over 11 years with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts as an auditor in Odessa, Texas and later as an audit group supervisor in San Antonio, Texas. During his career with the Comptroller's Office Henry performed audits on taxpayers in many industries and for various state taxes including state and local sales/use, franchise, oil production, and fuels taxes.

 

After the Comptroller's office Henry spent over 12 years providing state and local tax services to clients of Big 4 Accounting firms including Arthur Andersen and KPMG in Texas and later to clients of Cherry, Bekaert & Holland a regional accounting firm in Atlanta. He was also a partner in a Houston state tax consulting firm. In his various roles in public accounting he assisted clients with state tax audits, refund reviews, VDAs, taxabilitiy research, nexus studies, and various compliance issues.

 

Henry holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. He is a Texas Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Texas Society of CPAs (TSCAP) where he serves as a member of the Texas Taxation Conference Planning Committee.

 

Henry is also a member of the San Antonio CPA Society Chapter.
